A look at a recent fall engagement photo shoot at Boyne Highlands in Northern Michigan.
I had the chance to shoot for my first time in Harbor Springs, Michigan a few weeks back with my friends, Dylan and Abby. We did a little hiking, drove fast through muddy two track roads, had a few beers at Petoskey Brewing, and experienced just about every type of precipitation in two days. Needless to say, it was a great weekend.
I’m so glad we were able to take this photo. We caught some absolutely beautiful color on the hill. This is Boyne Highlands by the way for all you skiers and snowboarders. Side story, we actually hiked there from the back side of the mountain. When we made it down they told us we were the last people to ride the lift for the rest of the year and couldn’t get a ride back up. Funny right? It was all good though. Dylan’s mom picked us up and saved the day.
This location is close to where Dylan proposed to Abby. Thankfully they weren’t afraid of getting a little dirty and trekking through the woods for these shots. Also, thank you Dylan for deciding against my last photo idea here. Looking back, having you guys stand on that old log above the ravine/creek was a bad idea haha.
Nothing to see here folks. 😉
Sometimes I make people stand in the middle of the road too. It’s ok though, it seems to be pretty quiet this time of year around there.
All in all, Northern Michigan didn’t disappoint. Fall decided to stick around little longer this year for us and we were able to really take advantage of the colors. Have you gotten a chance to do a color tour in Michigan? Let me know if there’s any spots I should hit up next time.
