A day at the Muskegon dog beach with Max.
Meet Max. He’s an 11-1/2 year old Labrador Collie mix. He loves Koosh balls and is a great camper. I only had the pleasure to meet him once but what I can say is that he’s charming, funny, energetic, and like all dogs should be, a big part of his family. Max developed a condition 3 years ago where the muscles in his hind legs started to degenerate which poses a few problems with regards to his walking. As a dog owner myself, I love that his owner, Arlene, decided to do a shoot just for Max.
The shoot took place at Norman F. Kruse Park.
Even though we had a few hiccups coming down those stairs to get to the dog beach it didn’t stop Max from doing a few short sprints. He’s still got it.
This is one of my favorite shots.
Shake it off, my dude.
Arlene and Max.
Max is resilient. Regardless of his complications he still marches on even if he needs a little help at times. There’s something to be said about the drive and love a dog has to offer to its family no matter the circumstances. As people I feel we can learn a lot about the unconditional love we so often take for granted from our pups. Tell your dog you love them and give them a big squeeze next time you see them. They’re family too.
